Mission to Mars
48 x 48 inches, oil on canvas, 2021
MISSION TO MARS (LATEST REMARKS) was painted following the news about further research and the conquering of planet Mars. It was a very emotional moment, a shift in my mind, as I wondered whether it is possible to escape reality by moving to a different planet? I was comparing time and resources between conquering Mars and developing uninhabited land on Earth.
As more questions than answers swirled through my head, I kept subconsciously painting. After the canvas was completed, I found interesting elements such as a white horse: a white horse indicates “willingness” in ancient tradition, a side of an alien’s face, fire elements with water that are necessary for life creation, and a box with a key. The box in the painting is commonly associated with a black box on an airplane because they both hold clues to the secrets.
There is more than meets the eye!
