Plus we had an awesome conversation and learned about Irina and her family passions and story. I highly recommend this experience, and we for sure will be back - Kash Shaikh #besomebody.
A dream client called from Laguna Niguel in CA last Fall and asked to create one-of-a-kind designs for their master bedroom-bathroom-retreat suite in a new (on-going construction in Fall 2015) 70,000 sq. ft mansion overlooking Pacific Ocean. Our phone discussions were always fun and in-sync. Based on clients' favorite painting, a collection of new pattern designs created and produced on the silks of their choice.

Q: What made you venture into fashion?
A: My friends and clients would repeatedly approach me with requests to create a dress, a blouse, a skirt or a shawl using fabric prints derived from my paintings. And so my wearable art collection was conceived. I have created volumes of patterns form my original artworks and have expressed them on a variety of fabrics, including silk, cotton, linen and sports lycra.
Art, as an expressive form, has always existed in a constant state of change and flux. Cave paintings, icons, hieroglyphics, Michelangelo's famous ceiling, Seurat's cacophony of dots, Escher's mind-bending renderings, Monet's ambiguity, Munch's expression, Pollock's splatterings, cubism, modernism… all are testaments to the diversity of the human mind and spirit. Yet, tell me this: if we can have every type of expression on a canvas, why not have art on our windows or larger walls?

Magic happens when you are in the comfort zone. Surprisingly (or not) we release what's inside onto the canvas via paint - we experience Art That Heals™ - we paint our inner self. Feeling lighter after each session

Naum Korzhavin is one of the greatest Russian classical poets of the 20th century. Naum Korzhavin was forced to leave the USSR in 1970th and settled with his wife Luba in Boston, MA. Naum Korzhavin poetry was prohibited and thus not published due to his political anti-Soviet views. Being an underground poet meant that public would know him only via handwritten pages.
